Now Sam watched intently...Herman had taken the boiling blue dye
water off the cooker. He drained out the blue water and put all the blue feathers in
a strainer to dry. Then he got out his glue gun...sodder gun...and began putting the
blue material he had ripped up back together. After a long while...it began to take on
shape. It was not flat like Sam...but was more puffed out...and it seemed somewhat
round...what could it be.
Early the next morning Herman sat down. He looked at Sam..."How did you get in here? Did I bring you in...well...you might as well meet...Blue Bird." He went over to the other end of the table again...and came back. The blue shape was filled out and was different. It had points and strange long shapes....and some of the feathers were glued onto the outside of Blue Bird...and Sam realized here was the "idea" But what ever the "idea" had created...Sam couldn't decide if he liked it or not.
Herman carried Sam back out into the living room...and placed him in his usual corner...now as Herman went about his daily deeds and do's...Sam had company..."Hello..Blue....my name is Sam...and I am a green, fluffy, cat carry round. You are Blue Bird Singing, Flying, going nowhere...Mobile."
For the first time...Sam had a friend...someone he could share his thoughts and dreams with...someone he could mutter...mutter...with...someone who might understand some of his wishes and dreams...and as for Blue Bird...he thought Sam was very green and fluffy...and a little talkative...but on the whole he didn't mind...what he minded was the endless...tuneless...tune he, himself, kept humming.... to be continued |
