Taxi...Have you ever been in a taxi? Here is a story about a taxi that did not need a driver. He drives himself everywhere Taxi had an adventure just the other day with Blue
a sometimes friend. Did you read that one. Well it
doesn't matter, unless of course...you think it does. Your thoughts are best left
alone...unless you wish to share them. Then the web is a wonderful place to tell
your story, or thoughts or just silly poems. Anyway, I called TAXI MAN and he sent
along little yellow Taxi to see what was up. Taxi sat and idled for a minute...a very nice minute I must say...for his little radio was in fine tune...and was playing a very enjoyable little tune. I found my foot tapping to the beat. up story index "I believe I can accommodate that." replied the little yellow Taxi. "May I ask who recommended me to you?" asked Taxi. "Oh...Mr. Jim of course. He told me how you got him to where you were going but weren't just right. How you were there when you should be...inspite of great odds." Taxi replied that he remembered Mr. Jim well, and hoped he was feeling very fine, and yes he would take me to where it was I had to be, no matter what. We made arrangements for Taxi to pick me up in one hour. I spent the next hour running all over the place, getting my baskets, my eggs, my crayons, and all sorts of stringy green stuff. When Taxi came I was very tired out. I climbed into his back seat feeling the need for a great rest. "Where to then," asked Taxi, "Do you know the final destination?" Oh yes! I knew and told him Wednesday...I had to be there by Wednesday...with no delay. Little Yellow Taxi began to move...we went up high mountains....down steep dirt roads, around and around city circles....until the clock on the local Bank said...WEDNESDAY... up story index I jumped out of little yellow Taxi with my baskets, and stringy green stuff...eggs, and goodies. Paid him a little extra for getting me to Wednesday just right. I sat down on the Village Circle and began to make up the baskets for April Easter Day... Taxi sat and watched...his little engine idling very softly..."What are you doing? Are you making Easter baskets? Why are you making them today little Bunny?" I grinned at him and cried out, "April Fools Day...little yellow Taxi...What a great Day for a Silly Party!" And out from behind anything that could hide someone behind came Mr. Tweedle, Mr. Jim, Mr. Taxi Man, and even Blue, for he had finally given up...and gone home...so he could be there this time! Oh...what fun we had as we decorated April Fool Eggs and handed out April Fool ice cream and cake to everyone in town. |
